Starting October 7th from 6 pm -7:30 pm, join us for a five-week semester of Wednesday Night Dinners and "Learning Living Groups."
Every week starts with a free, fully provided meal. Come alone, bring your family, or invite a neighbor to enjoy great food and meet new friends!
Afterward, we break into fun, relaxed groups to share hobbies, skills, and life experiences—examples include Mahjong, crafts, parenting, or book studies.
Childcare will be available.
Groups to Join Each Week
Spiritual Practices: Experiencing the Divine in Nature
Ron Reams, a lover of nature, and especially of trees, will guide six sessions exploring different ways of experiencing the Divine in nature. Rather than simply talking about spirituality and nature, we will practice ways of slowing down, paying attention, listening, and opening ourselves to what nature may reveal.
Ron is a lay person, an experienced retreat leader, and a certified spiritual formation practitioner and spiritual director.
Come join us and discover a different way of experiencing nature, not simply as something to see and enjoy, but as a place where you may encounter God.
Zine Creator Time
Ditch the devices and connect with your family and friends through a popular low-tech form of communication. Zines are little "magazines" that are inexpensive to produce and perfect for sharing your unique point of view. We'll share ideas about topics and techniques, learn how to create an eight-page zine, and cheer each other on as we brainstorm, write, and draw.

What Are My Spiritual Gifts and How Can I Use Them?
Come spend some time learning about spiritual gifts, what they are, what they are good for, and who has them (spoiler alert--we all do!). Over five weeks together, we will learn from each other about spiritual gifts and have the opportunity to assess our individual gifts.
Limited to 10 individuals
Prior registration required

Try your hand at a rotating menu of fun projects, including a handheld labyrinth, junk journaling, watercolor painting, collage art, and card making. All supplies are provided at no charge, so you can just show up and create! Prefer to work on something else? You're welcome to bring your own ongoing project from home to work on while enjoying the company of fellow crafters. While registration is not required, Lara would love to know if you can make it to help with planning. Please send her a quick note at laraupton@cvillefirstumc.org if you plan to join this group!
